Who we are
Aftershot is made by Domenico Amalfitano (malf.visuals), Rome, Italy, who is responsible for your data. Contact: support@aftershotai.app.
No account
Aftershot works without an account: no name, email or password. Your library and settings stay on this iPhone, with a private copy in your own iCloud when iCloud is on. Only you can see that copy — we can't.
Photos you create
When you tap Create, the photo you chose (cropped and resized) is sent through our server to FLORA, the AI service that runs the models: Google's Nano Banana for photos, and ByteDance's Seedance or Kuaishou's Kling for animations. Some animation styles let you add a location or product photos: those go to FLORA the same way. We don't use your photos to train AI models, and FLORA's agreements with the model providers exclude training on them. Copies of the uploaded photo and of the result are kept privately in our FLORA workspace; write to us and we'll have them removed.
Why we can use it
We process your photo because you ask us to create a portrait, and with your consent, which you give before your first creation and can withdraw at any time in Profile → Data.
Safety checks
The AI models apply their own safety filters and refuse explicit content. If you've turned on Sensitive Content Warning on your iPhone (or Communication Safety on a child's iPhone), Apple's check also runs on your phone before the photo is sent. Its result never leaves your iPhone.
Camera and library
The camera and your photo library are used only when you take or pick a photo. We never read other photos. If you turn on Save to Photos, Aftershot only adds your new portraits.
Credits
Your credit balance is kept on our server under a random identifier created by the app, not linked to your name or Apple ID. When iCloud is on, a copy of this identifier is kept in your iCloud so your credits follow you to a new iPhone. To make sure free credits and invite codes are used once per phone, we use Apple's DeviceCheck, which tells us only whether this phone has already received them.
Invites
To award invite credits we store your invite code and a scrambled identifier of your device. They can't be used to identify you.
Usage counts
We count how many photos are created with each style, without any information about who created them. These counts power the numbers you see on Home.
Purchases
Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple. To give you your plan's or pack's credits, the app sends us Apple's signed record of your purchase (which product, and for a plan when it renews). We never see your payment details.
Service providers
Vercel runs our server and FLORA runs the AI models (both in the USA); Google, ByteDance and Kuaishou provide the models through FLORA; Apple handles payments, iCloud and DeviceCheck. When data leaves the EU, it's protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep it
Your credit record stays while you use Aftershot. Copies at FLORA stay until you ask us to remove them. Your library is yours: it stays on your iPhone and in your iCloud until you delete it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by writing to support@aftershotai.app. Since there's no account, include your invite code (Profile → Invite friends) so we can find your records. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Age
Aftershot is for people 18 and over.
Your choices
Delete photos at any time from your Library, or everything — on this iPhone and in your iCloud — from Profile → Data.
